Ok those of you who enjoy overcrowded, overstuffy warehouse stores as much as *I* do might join in this game.

A certain overcrowded, overstuffy warehouse store seems to be doing a "featured fish of the month" where they suddenly begin carrying a brand new fish that probably shouldn't be sold at the store. Past ffotm include violet gobies and australian rainbowfish.

The game:

What fish do you think will arrive next?

My guess... African Butterfly Fish... Pantodon buchholzi

Mbu puffers!!
...Actually, that's not funny at all.

I left a post-it on the tank of violet gobies at my local overcrowded, overstuffy warehouse store that read "We are brackish water fish and prefer a SG of about 1.007". They took it down the next day, of course, but I probably confused a lot of customers.
"What the heck is a SG??"

haha i can just picture that...

Customer: What's SG 1.007 mean?
Employee: It means uh... solid ground... they like the gravel to be 1.007" deep...

anyone else?

Tiger shovelnose catfish, they always turn up in shops as cute little 4" kittens and unsuspecting newbies dont know they grow to 4 feet.

Synirr that is great! I am going to carry post it notes with me next time I visit a particular fish shop!!!

My guess irridescent sharks.

Common or Sailfin plecs is about the most obvious ones, most people dont have a 4'x18"x18" for a big sailfin plec...

Other obvious ones are Oscars, ID Sharks & Silver Sharks..

Yep. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately), those fish have been deemed passe for the customers at this point. It's moving on to bigger (*tankbuster*) and better (a.k.a. more expensive) exotic-type fish.

Any more guesses?

I may have missed something here but is there suddenly a ban on mentioning the name of this store? I'm sure I know which one it is and I also know I haven't seen any posts about it in quite a while when there used to be at least one a week. It would probably be the store I rescued 2 bettas from back in January and haven't spent a cent in since then.

Edited for spelling.

Well, my lfs ..probably either dwarf puffers, glow light tetras, rc shrip, or some saltwater fish ( only have freshwater so I don't know any kind of salt) lol....

As far as I know there's no ban :dunno: I just enjoy descriptive words. And being shady. :shifty:

Can you imagine if they started selling saltwater?

How many more clownfish would die?

"MOMMY DADDY NEMO FISH!"

I think a Osphronemus Gourami would do the trick....I think I'd sue if they did....lol....I'd feel bad fro the people who bought one...what would they do with it?

Kill it :|

How could you do that??

I guess I might have to donate it to a zoo......or spend the 50k that it'd cost to get a big enough set-up for it...... I might have to have a ear or eye donated to a science lab...

Or maybe have them remove my brain as long as they put all back to the norm...
