About a 4 wks ago my swordtails had babies and soon ate them all. But one somehow one got stuck inside my UGF. I presumed it dead and frogot about him. Today I saw him again but bigger. So Ive tried to get him out.

Ive tried to use my siphon to suck him out but its not strong enought to bring him in. Ive tried holding a bloodworm next to the opening but that didnt work either.

I would like to get him out but it wouldnt matter if i couldnt. :/

This isnt urgent since he's been living off the waste under the tank for the past weeks and theres plenty more to last him a long long time.

Try a turkey baster. They work great for moving fry back to where they belong.

Im gonna try to move the gravel away so theres an opening in the filter so he can try to squeeze out of the holes.

good news my plan worked! It took him a while to know that he could swim out of the UGF but hes out swimming around. But I think I messed up my UGF.

i personally find UGFs very inconvenient and a lot of hassle. Maybe you'd consider switching to a different kind of filter?

P.T.
