sorry mate no way of telling with them pics at all!

things to look for

are:

pink belly
front ray extentions on dorsal fin

The title makes this thread seem so much more interesting  .

TBH they look a bit immature to tell.

I have a female who only got the pink belly after I removed the male that kept fighting with her (and the other fish for that matter), for ages I was conviced I had two males.

Just give it some time  .

yah i know about the topic sounding dirty a lttle..

i'll try to spot rocknurworld2006 descriptions-

but as you've said they might be too young to tell--

hope i've got a pair though-

:hey:

If they are youngsters you wont be able to tell yet. Also they tend to be colourless in the shop. Give them a good varied and meaty diet- plenty of frozen bloodworm, daphnea, glass worms, mosquito lavae algea wafers and good quality flake and you will see the beautiful colours.

Sometimes you wont be able to tell the difference. I have what I thought were 2 females as they both have pink bellies which is unusual - but I know they are male and female because I have had eggs with 'fry eyes' in. (none got to the hatching stage yet before they get eaten!)
