A Letter From Your Petstore Betta

Dear Mommy/Daddy,


I have spend most of my life on a pet store shelf, in a tiny cup so small that my body was constantly arched, I had no room to straighten out. I have been shaken by small children until I was dizzy. I have been shoved to the back of the shelves and forgotten. There were days and weeks where no one fed me or changed my water. I was scared, hungry and all alone. There were days when I had given up all hope. But then one day, there you were. You lifted up my cup and you smiled at me, from your lips came the most wonderful words, "This is the one." Almost sick with happiness I went home with you. Finally for the first time in my life I was cared for, fed, and most importantly loved, by you, my owner, and my best friend. So I just wanted to thank you for everything you've done for me. By taking me in and giving me a home you ensured that one more betta was well cared for, that one more betta was loved. And I will forever be grateful for that.

Aww, Jade! That's veru cute! Marketing class? That's pretty funny, but that's ok I downsize my fishforum screen at work whenever someone comes in my office...it's just all part of the obsession. Quick story:

So today I tried my little birl, Zoe (one more time) with Blueberry Fishkins. They are the ones who have been "making eyes" for days now, but that's apparently all he wants with her. Their tanks are side by side, and tonight, he was on one side of her tank, and I was sitting on the other. Anyway, after awhile, I just took her out to put her back in her own tank and put Minnie in with him. Zoe went MAD crazy! She did not like that little girl with HER man. She was staring Minnie down and following her (by watching her through the glass) flaring constantly..but the funniest part was when she kept turning around flaring at me. It's like she was mad at me for putting Minnie in there..She NEVER has flared at me before! Spoiled little brat!
