There is a problem with ignorant people within the hobby, and calling them ignorant is not an insult. Ignorance is the lack of knowledge or awareness. So they have to be educated.

I tried educating a hobbyist on another forum a couple of days ago. They had a pair of Apistogramma borelli Steel Blue and the male died and they wanted to pair the remaining female with a male Apistogramma borelli Opal.

I was told by a different hobbyist that there needs to be more variety of fishes in the hobby and the hybrids didn't matter because I didn't live near them and I wouldn't be buying fish from their LFS.
And  I'm the a-hole?

I have a few family members that make me suspect humans might do this sort of thing too.
