here's the problem, there must be some kind of fin nippin fish in my tank..at first it was only my 2 male guppies...and i thought that they were fighting..then yesterday one of my harlequin rasbora had nipped fins too...and one of my male guppy now has a tail that is...GONE and i saw a clown loach chasing it..is it chasin it cause he thinks it's dead or..is he the nipper?are rasboras nippers?

tank: 55 gallon

13 harlequin rasboras
2 guppies
cories
sparkling gouramis
2 clown loach
1 discus
2 angel fish...

I think you are a little overstocked, but the nipping fish may be the male guppies. I have 2 males and they nipped each other to death because there were no females around to harass so they harassed each other. I don't think they would nip at the others though but I am not 100% sure. :dunno:

In my somewhat limited experience (3 months) male guppies will harras anything that moves if they think they can get their fin over. I've seen a small male going after a large fully grown sword female, as well as female guppies, another female sword and a female betta (he was a real pain in the but, I had to get rid of him he was stressing out the other fish way to much)

Hi kevin007 :)

Are you absolutely sure that their fins are being nipped? Or could it be a case of finrot starting up? :dunno:
