USA,
so today I go to walmart to see if they have any nice female bettas, they dont have any of the color I want, si I go check out the other fish.

well to my supprise they had tons of beautiful african cichlids, I think they even had demonsi??, not sure how to spell it.

and the best thing, they sell parrot fish, and guess what, they had breed! I actually saw little parret fry! I never knew that parrets breed sucessfully, especially at suck a small size. They were all being taken care of, and were not for sale, as I know some places wouldnt even seperate the parrents and the fry.

That's cool. I hope I can go to my walmart when I get my money, I want some female guppies they have, those things had the biggest brightest freaking tails I've ever seen on a female! Not to mention I need more ghost shrimp, I somehow managed to kill all mine after a water change :-(

I am glad to hear WM is doing good. I find it strange that when there is a bad WM thread, there are tons of posts, there is a good one and only 2 people, including myself responded. Wow.

Hi fives to the good WalMart.
They're among the minority, and I can say that if I ever went to one of the 2 that are in my town and everything was healthy and sparkly clean, I'd call their management and commend them just like I call there and rant when everything's nasty.
I just haven't ever been to one that didn't make me irate because it was nasty yet tho.... :dunno:

I hear ya. There is a new WM in my area, their fish department was pretty good. The fish weren't sick, the tanks were clean and there was someone in there cleaning the tanks and feeding the fish when I was in there. It is only about 10 minutes away from another WM that I visit sometimes. Their fish section is disgusting. I got Leroy my fat lipped betta from the nice WM. He was the only one they had, no one was going to buy him with his funny mug and crooked fins. He was in a 10G by himself, but the lady there told me it was only because he was the last one.

There putting in a walmart in my town, I'm hoping to get a job in the fish department... I don't know how to ask for that position though....

I need to work with the fish Mr. Walmart man...

keep in mind that most (if not all) walmarts don't have "fish" departments....they have pet departments so you'd be best off asking to work with the pet stuff....that way you will be dealing with the fish stuff as well as the other pet products (dog/cat/bird food and toys)

The Red Parrot is infertile and will not successfully breed in the aquarium. They may lay eggs in a cave, but because the males are infertile, the will not develop.
but I saw little fish, I think they are jelly beans then.

I have read that most parrots are infertile. However, I have also read that some aren't. I believe there is a member of this forum who has bred parrots in the past. I will see if I can dig up the post.

Here is one post that refers to some of the males not being infertile. There are more, just go to the hybrid section of this forum

Moral here is, never believe everything you read.
