Hello folks, I am a novice in fishkeeping but I've been researching it for a few weeks now on the internet and I am going to buy myself a tank soon, cycle it and then get my first fish, I was wondering, would there be any problems with keeping the following together:?

1 x bristlenose pleco
6-10 (not sure how many yet - suggestions based on tank?) x neon tetra
1 x betta

In this tank http://www.petsathome.com/invt/10300
(63l, W61 x H42 x D35cm)

Would there be space for many more fish in there in the future?

Thanks for your help :)

The betta will torment, if not kill, the neons. Your choices sound good, you just might want to reconsider the betta. Trust me, I've tried introducing bettas in different ways. They will flare at other fish almost immediatly.

The Betta is best off alone. They can get along with others, but I'm not sure about their tolerating the others.

EDIT: Beaten to it :p

Thankyou for your replies :)

I see, could you (or anyone) perhaps suggest another fish to replace the betta that would get along with the other chaps/chappettes? I'd really like to have a bristle nose, and some neon tetras and one or two of another species to add a little more variety. I was looking at the bettas as I have seen some in my LFS and they looked very pretty, so, any pretty replacements for the betta?

Thanks

Ah, I have investigated the above fish and I believe I'll go for the Harlequin, so

1 x bristlenose
6 x neon tetra
4 x harlequin

:)

Thanks for your help
