hello-heres a funny question,my male guppys are always trying to mate with my female swordtails,could this actualy happen, and should i be worried ? many thanks

No they wont breed!

Definitely can't breed. They are two different species, so it won't happen.

Though it isn't unusual for Guppies to try to breed with anything and everything!

My old (ancient, actually) Innes book has pictures of what is claimed to be a guppy/molly hybrid. I don't know if that was ever proven or disproven. Too bad they didn't have DNA analysis back then...

no they won't have babies, but guppys will mate with anything even males.

Guppies and mollies can breed. Just like platies and swordtails can breed. (though molly X guppy crosses are more fragile) However, a guppy and a swordtail won't manage to produce any viable fry so don't worry about it
