Fish Crazy
I found whitespot in my tank when I returned from my holiday last Friday. Luckily I had half a bottle of Protozan in my cupboard so I put a measured dose in and repeated the second day. By the third day I had nearly run out of Protozin so I went to my LFS to get some more. They had just sold out and recommended that because it was Sunday and the only place for a few miles that I did a water change, gravel vac and started a course of Interpet Anti Whitespot - the med they 'did' have in stock.
I followed their advice and put the first dose in on Sunday followed by the recommended repeated dose yesterday. I no longer see any whitespot on my fish at all but I've seen online that I should do a second course just to be certain it's gone.
Is this good advice? If so, should I do a big water change first and put the carbon back in the filter for 24 hours before dosing again? One final question: how soon after seeing the whitespots gone do you return the tank temperature to normal?
