Full shot of the tank. I've removed some plants that I didnt like. But now im not happy with it. Too many of the same plants. Im going to remove and change some of the forground plants. Going to add som other tall plants in the background. Also some carpet plant at the front.

Just added cathode tube Moonlighting as well. Think it looks better than the LEDs, but i've got both to play with now.

660 litres.
Spent too much on platns. Ordered a box of 54 but they didnt all fit. Plus i've taken some out now.
They cost £100. Bit of a waste of money as I probably only have about £60 worth in there now.

You possibly weren't looking for comments as you seem to have a plan going on and this may go against everything you're going for but i reckon the tank needs some hardscaping to divide it slightly into 2/3's and 1/3. Maybe some bogwood that extends upwards into the water column. Maybe some of those twisted bogwood branches that you see in show tanks..?
The run of swords across the back is too regular and makes the tank look shallow.
The central piece of wood could be used running front to back at a slight angle to draw the eye? Obviously, i can't see the real shape but, you know what i mean?
I'd plant all the E. stellata together and aim to build the tank to a high point at that end. It would have far more impact as 1 group.
I think the large stone, bogwood, large stone line in the centre is too regular...

Just my 2 cents at a quick look.... I still wish i knew what to do with mine so what do i know!! The moonlighting looks great...my next project, i think, so i can see my syno's!

There is two tall peices of bog wood each end, but they dont show up in the photo.
There also is some java fern in the back row of plants, but they just look like swords. Its all bushed out quite a lot and I know what your saying about it being too level. That was my worry to start with.

I am happy with the tank, but also I dont like it, lol.
I dont have the imagination to get it looking like I want it.
I love all those show tanks, specially with those long thin bits of bog wood your on about. But I never see any of that in the shops.

So im kinda stuck with altering it till I get what I like or somehow getting someone to help me get it looking top dog. But I dunno anyone.

Still.....like I said, I still like it

I like the symetrical look of the tank I think you did a great job. I really like the moon lighting

It looks fab m8, its only short of one thing IMO :) a shole of discus

I would have discus, but my water is too hard.
I would need a RO unit, but I wouldnt want to do changes with buckets of RO water.
I thought about running a pump so I could just pump tank water through the RO unit after a change. But I dont know that it would soften the water fast enough before it affect the discus.

I have a 210ltr garden water butt ib the shed in the back yard, its set up on a over flow, and has a heater in it so i can leave untill i want water.
I thinking of conectiong up a pump and a long pipe to fill the tanks up, for the same reason the dreaded buckets
