Hi guys i have a couple of questions regarding co2 systems,
At what point do you need a co2 system?
how do you know how much co2 you need?
do you have the system on constantly or do you switch it off at night?

Many thanks

Depends on what plants you have. At least the same time of photoperiod and same time co2 dosing. you have to turn it off at night. plants dont need co2 without light and it can cause a pH swing

When you're lighting is strong enough to cause the plants to need extra
How do you know how much co2 you need?
30ppm - Use a drop checker with distilled water and 4dKH solution
do you have the system on constantly or do you switch it off at night?
Better to switch it off, wastes CO2 otherwise

IMO

I don't personally use CO2, never needed to, but, on the last point I'd say it's essential you turn it off at night time. Plants stop photosynthesizing at night time (no light) and begin respiration, producing CO2 instead of O2.

Thanks for all your replys guys, Think i have a weekend of reading up ahead
