A Few Questions

hi all well i was given a complete fish set up over two weeks ago, 36/16/12 with two plecos one tetra one i think is a bottom feeder spends most of the time on the bottom and a red tailed shark eveything seems to be ok had the water tested. iam now looking to ad more fish what would you recommend looking for colour and easy to keep. also what would you recommend with regards to real plants or plastic. thanks.

welcome to tff, and to your new hobby,
all tetras like to swim in groups, so maybe add some more of the kind you already have,
do find out what plecos they are if poss post a pic in the cat fish section for an id, then you will know how big they will grow, that will tell you how much room for further additions, rtb sharks like their own bit of territory so a cave would be good, they also need to be the only one per tank, as with plants i think real are the best they look better as well as helping the tank to get rid of nitrate, second best is silk, they can look just as real without the sharp edges fake plastic ones can have, hth Donna x :)

hi again thanks for the advice, if i change to real plants from the silk ones would this upset the water in any way, also what about changing the colour of the gravel do i need to do anything?.one thing i noticed today that my filter seemed to emit quite alot of air bubbles from the outlet is this normal?. thanks.
