I've enjoyed this guy ever since I first laid eyes on him.

Ah, and this one is a little different. When I got it, I presumed it was a female. Time has passed and it never grew a belly full of eggs, and it finds enjoyment flaring at other males, lol. Could this be a male?

I'm suree the last one is a female its just the fins seem to long for a female but by the shape of the fins i think its a female.
Lovely bettas though extremely nice colours!

i would disagree. there are long finned females but that fish looks male to me. when it flares, does it have a beard. if yes, then 100 male!

I really thought it was a male until i seen the bottom fin.
Wait for an expert to come along ;) I'm sure loraxchick is right!

Ha, it does have a "beard". Even though it does have one, plenty, if not all females do. Either case, I'm not going to breed it, so everything is just dandy! =]

id check those facts again. while females extend their gills when they flare they lack the characteristic male beard. if it has a beard when it flares. its a male. also the pointy anal fin. longish ventrals and overall male shape. or maybe the pics are deceiving.
in either case a beauty of a fish! both are
cheers

Whoops, I should have been more clear! Yeah it's gill extension, lol. Not like the beard of any of my males. Oh well. Guess I'll finally name a fish for the first time.
"Gender"
lol.
