I cycled the tank tank fishless (we need a better phrase for this by the way) added six neons and today added two black otos for the algae and four shrimp for all the bits of food that the neons discard as they are too big. Thinking of adding a couple of neons and some corys in a week or two. Does this sound O.K. by you fish fans?
I have a 10 gallon planted tank. All nitrogen ratings cycle are low ( with a small water change today before the new fish went in).
Also what lighting periods do you all use? I have the lights on from 10am to 9pm. Does this sound reasonable?
And now for the special offer. I have a 1/2 litre bottle of 10% ammonia (the rest is distilled water). If anyone wants it to start their fishless cycle (worked for me in about two weeks) pay the postage and it's yours. E-mail me with your address and payment etc. will be sorted out.
