HI, i am setting up a yeast based diy co2 system and i think that im almost there. but i have been so busy lately that i have not had the time to check whether 2 two liter bottles filled with the yeast sugar and water solution will be too much co2 for a 130l tank. i have been looking tonight but found nothing i have also sent some e-mails around but no reply. i really have no idea how much co2 the normal mixture would produce.

i also have another question related to the subject which is, i know that you can buy co2 testing kits but could you measure the amount of co2 by measuring the pH regularly as i have lots of pH testing solution and i think that it would be silly to buy co2 tester if the pH will work just as well.

so there it is the two questions i hope you can help me because i am ever so slightly confused.

thanks :good: :good:

in a drop checker it is PH and 4kdh (correct order of the letters there i think) so by measuring the ph yes you can roughly tell if its safe or not...but you need hagens low range ph with bromo blue in it to do it via ph.

i have two 2 litre yeast systems on a 165litre and it makes it green/near yellow with home made mix

What mix you using?

Yeah i have a low range pH indicator from hagen.
I use I teaspoon of yeast per bottle and 2 cups of sugar then fill up to the top
