A big blackkout thankyou to fishforums for the advice on getting rid of bga with a 3 day blackout.

Has anyone else tried the 3 day blackout? I've just finish a few days ago, and the result is amazing!

I did, and it was clear as a bell, but 72 hrs later it was back!

That's the problem really, a black out if a temporary measure and unless the root of the problem is resolved, the algae will come back.

That's the problem really, a black out if a temporary measure and unless the root of the problem is resolved, the algae will come back.

I don't really know why it came back-my co2 is about 20ppm, and my nitrates around 20-40 ppm. Flow rate is high-maybe too high for the fish! The tank was so clear on saturday morning, it looked like new, then by Monday it was creeping up the glass again and over some of my plants. Very annoying. I have had my maracyn delivered this morning so am hoping that this will nuke it and it won't get a foothold again. If it does not I think my next move will be neat bleach!
