where do you get that it wasn't returned to the lake after the pics and weighing?
granted the article dosn't mention this point at all, but generaly speaking match/course fish are returned at the end of the day
for others to try and catch them. it tends to be game fish (trout,salmon etc) that are not returned to the water.
