Hi all,

Recently bought a 90g for my turtle (so fish are limited, it consists of 3 balas and 2 CAE). I will be upgrading as needed to keep up with the balas. :)

I just set it up and already I don't like it. :fun: I'm not able to use real plants as he likes to destroy everything. The water is murky as I didn't wash the sand well enough, but it will clear up when I do my weekly w/c in a couple of days...

I will also be taking out the basking dock and replacing it with a large piece of driftwood, cut to size and notched to rest on the tank trim. :good:

Is it the plants? The rocks? I don't know. But I like how the wood is placed, and I really like the center plant. It is silk but unfortunately only 2 were available (marked down to sell) so I wasn't able to get more. :(

Would love some advice please.

EDIT: Also PS I will be getting a black background soon!

Is that a cage/cover on top so the turtle can bask but not escape?

What kind of turtle?

Yes... in the turtle world it's called an ATBA... above tank basking area. Quite a few times he crawled up the back of the tank and stuck himself between the glass and the wall... another time he ended up on the floor and down an air vent. Now I have this, no more escapades for him!!

Red ear slider.

I think your problem is that it's too symmetrical; try puting both pieces of wood and the taller plants on one side, and the rocks and the shorter plants on the other?
