No they are not! You don't understand how it works. African cichlids are often over stopped to lower aggression, with lot's of fish in the tank no one fish will always be attaked and fish can't square off to each other. The fish themselves are still agressive.

Also you try keep an overstocked NW cichlid tank and you will learn.

1 oscar
2 salvani cichlids
1 royal pleco *ive already asked the catfish section about the royal and it will be fine*

jus wanted to add that if you get a severum slightly bigger than your oscar (Altho still both pretty small) they should be fine.

thats what i did and they jus hang about together now.

Certainly any agression is "diluted" in larger goups....

Not with NW cichlids.


About the Severum, I had to separate my severum who's smaller then my oscar, because he was bullying my oscar! So much for severums being a more docile cichlid.

what could i keep in the 90 gallon

any suggestions?

I have 5 discus in my 90g now, I am glad I made the decision for discus, they are very interesting. They seem to like my tv, they ate after being put in my tank right away too.

I think Ill add one more so I have 6 in my 90g....
