Hello everyone,

I currently have a 20 Gal tank running and cycled. I have an angel fish, 2 shark fish (pink and not sure if that is the proper name) and 2 other small fish (sorry i'm trying to learn the name of fish..lol) and for my birthday my boyfriend bought me a 75 gal tank. So I ran it with my filter for 4 days and then went to the fish store and they advised me to buy some fish to cycle the tank. So in my 75 gal tank I have 4 Mollies and 4 Platys. I was just wondering if this is enough fish to cycle my tank or not. I read somewhere that you need one fish per 5 gal. Also does anyone have any ideas on what other kinda fish i could add to my tank. I do plan on adding the fish from my 20 gal tank when my 75 gal has cycled. I really like the Bala sharks. I think I want atleast one bigger fish in my tank. Any ideas? Also how often should I be doing water changes and how much should I be doing? Thanks for the help. Just so you know I got the 20 gal tank off my uncle who had already cycled it for me.

Thanks again
Michelle

Need to find the names out of the pink shark fish.
Bala sharks have to be kept in groups to be happy and really need a 125gal tank.
I would stick with the fish you have to cycle the tank.

Can you get a pic up of the pink sharks.

I was looking through some of the pictures on this forum and I think they are abino Rainbow Sharks. I am gonna try to get a pic. Batteries are dead right now though :-(

O.K. the "pink sharks" are some kind of albino loach, most likely clown. Which NEED a 75 gallon to be happy as they can reach 9+ inches. The "misc fish" look to be some kind of tetra, probably white skirts.

the pink shark is most definatly an albino RFBS Epalzeorhynchos bicolour

the misc fish look to be diamond tetras Moenkhausia pittieri

75 gal would be ok for 3 small bala sharks, but not 3 adult ones.
