hi the 2 cichlids i have ever wanted are a oscar and a jack dempsey i have a 70g will this be big enough for just those to fully grown?

Sadly No it won't be large enough as I believe a Oscar By itself needs a 75 gallon AT LEAST thats what I remember anyway

most things i have read say that 55g is the bare minimum tank size for an oscar?

Also when going for a oscar you must realise that they are HUGE waste producers so need much better filtration and so I'd say some extra gallons are attributed towards the oscars waste production...

I had done alot of reading before i set up my new tank, and went out and brought enough filtration to cycle my tank 13x more than required. So im not to worried about the bio part of things, plus i'd be doing a 40-50% water change every week.

I also have other tanks just not cichlids.
