6Th Day Of Cycle.

You should have just done what I did and steal some mature filter media from your best mate whos had his filter running for 2 years, I chucked it right in 2 days later I added fish and I had no problems at all :D

I wish I knew somebody who actually keeps fish seriously and knows what cycling is...

Is there any nitrite showing at all, even a little?

I haven't actually tested for Nitrite yet however the ammonia level hasn't dropped.

Well, even if they don't know about cycling.. they probably don't have any reason to say "no", so you could always offer to buy a new replacement sponge for them?

Sometimes, there is some nitrite in tap water, but it still takes a while to get that part of the cycle going.. I wouldn't worry about testing nitrite until a couple of days after the ammonia starts dropping noticeably.

I'd offer to send you some of mine in the post, only I have a very lightly stocked tank, so I'm not really sure you'd benefit anything!

I think I've seen the first drop in ammonia today! :hyper:

It's only slight but it's still a drop, it looks like I'm going somewhere after all!

Let's just hope it's not random! :D
