Hi,
I've just bought a 60L Biorb. I know alot of people aren't keen on them, but due to limited space in my flat it was the best option. I've got the heater, LED light, filter, pump, thermometer etc but no ornaments or plants.
I've bought some Seachem Stability to help cycle the tank and the lady I bought the tank from has given me an API master test kit to check p.h levels etc.
I will be using artificial plants and may be have an ornament in there too. Do I need to set up the Biorb with heater and light on, filter, pump, ornament and plants inside before I cycle it and then start cycling once it's set up how I want to use it? Or do I add the decor when it's cycled?
I want to buy a Crown Tail Betta once the tank is cycled. Would a couple of Black Phantom Tetras and 6 Neon Tetras be OK to add at a later date? I don't want to overstock as I will not be able to buy a larger tank any time soon as my flat just doesn't have the space for anything bigger.
Do any members have a link to photos of their Betta tank set ups? I want my fish to be happy in there even though I'm not using real plants.
Also, what food would you recommend for a Betta?
Is there anything I need to add to the water to keep him healthy?
Or anything else I've forgotten to buy?
As it's a second-hand tank someone suggested cleaning it out with Milton Baby Sterilizing stuff. What do you think?
Thanks in advance for any advice
Take care,
Rachel
