You should do what I did. I found a great deal on my 55g for only $180 US dollars and it came with the hood and light, filter, and heater for that one price so look up some local pet stores in your area and call around asking if they sell it and for how much and ask how much the stand, hood and light, filter, and heater will cost also and ask them if they have any sells where you get more than the tank for the same price. Thats what I did.

Hi my new tank (which I have just filled today!) is 300 litres which is about 65 gallons (I think). It is a Juwel Rio 300 which includes tank, cupboard/stand, heater, filter, lights. filter sponges. I shopped around and got it for £412. Highest price I saw was £460. I also got a £30 fish voucher. We collected it ourselves so no delivery charge. As Durbkat says you can get a much better deal if you get an empty tank and get all the bits yourself but I like to buy the set-up complete as it suits my abilities better. :)

If you live in the US, Petco has great deals on 55 gallon setups this time a years. Roughly $175 for everything except a stand. Not good if you want to keep live plants, but otherwise they are good kits, I bought a 29 gallon one recently for a little over $100.

Outside the US, those Juwel aquariums seem to be very popular, and they look stunning. See above post for pricing ^^
