hey all, since my last post i have setup a 6 foot by 2 foot by 2 foot tank it is 650litres, at the moment i have 7 tropheus Moliro and 8 cucko catfish, all the fish and catfish are around 5cm, i plan to put another another 20+ tropheus moliro in there to grow up, i am using a Aqua One CF-2200 Aquis canister filter and 4 large 480litre sponge filters, do u think i will need more filteration? i know i wont need it while they are young but when they are adults will i need more filteration?

how many litres an hour do they all do? i have my filter turn over the tank water 8x and hour up to 10 is a good number as u can overstock it slighltly then

I'd get at least 1 more of those canister filters, and two if you're going to stock on the heavy side!

I'd pitch the sponge filters, unless you're using them as a backup if you need a quarantine quick or something. I use my sponge filters for that and I never count them as part of the filtration system. They are just my back up that I take out when/if I need them.

it does 2200lph and the tank is around 650litres

it turns itself over about 3.3x per hour.

i myself would have more filtration...it depends on how your stocking is.

if its light then youre going to be ok.

i like to have my tanks turn over about 6x or more per hour

okay thanks for the replys, i am going to have 28 5cm tropheus morlio and 8 5cm cucko catish. i will also add 1 more canister filter maby a 1200lph? what do u guys think?
