I'm moving 5hours away soon and need to know how to take the fish. I have some killifish, rainbowfish, blue-eyes, gudgeons, and crayfish. How can i get them up with me?
I bought a fish from a LFS about 5 hours a way...it was a plecostomus...if these fish are hardy enough, then they should be find in a water sealed container with extra oxygen if you can get it.
Well rainbow, id do what your lfs would do, bag them(loads ov room in the bags), knot the bags or elastic band them, with air in the bags!,then box them. Polystyrine box would be best for climate control!. Just ask your lfs for those type of boxes.
This meathod is used world wide. Your fish will be fine.
Or even to be on the safer side, half way through your journey open bags add more fresh/conditiones water.
bag them...put some oxygen tablets...walaa.....
last time....I used a big cooler(filled with water/not ice) to transport my 20 inches Clown Knife from Texas to California....The road trip took 23 hours.
