Hi folks,

I have a 5ft long x 2ft high tank which is currently being lit by 2 4ft T8 tubes which are pretty old...just what I had lying around when I set the tank up. Obviously this isn't really helping the plants out.

I'm struggling to find the relevant bits to light this tank. I had thought T5 tubes but can't seem to find any 5ft long, or the light units for these.

What would you recommend?

Cheers

T5 lights will be fine at 48". You just have to suspend them a bit over the tank. I ran 4x 48" t5 over my 5' x 20" and could grow sps corals on the bottom.

Edited, because I was apparently drunk when I wrote it. I don't remember having a drink though

Or just stagger the lighting so that it reaches all parts of the tank
