55g Tank( Almost Empty)

Hey,
I have come acrost a 55g tank and i only have 3 fish in it. I will have to drain it tommorow to repair the tank( replace the support) and i dont have a hood and i only have a 30g bio-wheel filter right now. Do you know anything i could add to it. Also, the bottom is completely bare( cause i need to fix the tank first).

By bluegill do you mean bluegill catfish (Lepomis macrochirus)? If so, they get 8-10" long, I'm not sure if they'll work with african cichlids or not. They are primarily carnivours and will only eat vegetation if no other food is available, so you would have to be very careful to not feed too much protein if you want to keep mbuna with them.

If you are going to be rehoming the fish that are in there, you have several options.

It is a native to illinois( a state in the us).

bluegill are carnivorous and they get pretty big and aggrssive. I would not put them in with any african cichlids.

Blue gill!? Throw them in the lake and get some mbuna! It's not like you can't catch new blue gill later with a tub of turkey and a pole.
