Ok, I recently got a tank from my friend (55 US Gallons) and the fish that were in it. There are 5 red eye tetras, 2 tiger barbs, and some sort of platy. I added my 3 cherry barbs and now am wondering what else I should get. The tank is already cycled and has some live plants and sand. I really want to get some cories (really like the pandas) and some more tiger barbs, another platy or two, and maybe cherry barbs. I might see if I can give the red eye tetras to a lfs because they are kind of stupid, all they do is sit in the current from the filter all day :/. I recently found a very large lfs and am so excited because they have a lot rarer fish then the other ones (more like one unless you count petsmart and petco ) but I am looking for fish that are compatable with these that are colorful and active. Any suggestions appreciated :D.

Current Stocking:
5 red eye tetras
2 tiger barbs
3 cherry barbs
1 platy

Any suggestions?

Maybe a couple of angel fish?

I'm no expert, but i've heard barbs and tetra's don't mix.

Also, angels are agressive. Killed half the fish in my oldest brother's first freshwater tank years ago.
Heck, even Petco has them in the agressive section.

I'd say, with what you got, try for a community tank. YOu can do a whole lot for a community tank with 55 gallons.
