Hey all, so I recently set up my 55 Gallon tank and is planted(ferts,El). I was looking to get into some different stocking ideas. I was wondering what you all thought about what I should stock it with. I am in the process of growing a monte carlo carpet, so It must be compatible with this. If it helps I am interested in gouramis, rainbowfish, and loaches. No idea, if any of these fish will work, this is my first planted tank, but it is running great so far! Thanks!

What are the tank dimensions (length x width x height)?

What is the GH (general hardness), KH (carbonate hardness) and pH of your water supply. This information can usually be obtained from your water supply company's website or by telephoning them. If they can't help you, take a glass full of tap water to the local pet shop and get them to test it for you. Write the results down (in numbers) when they do the tests. And ask them what the results are in (eg: ppm, dGH, or something else).

------------------------
Most rainbowfish do best in water with a GH around 200+ ppm and a pH above 7.0.
Most gouramis and loaches come from soft water with a GH below 150ppm and a pH below 7.0.
