50 MILLION BABIES!!!

I read on this forum somewhere that mollies have around 10~20 babies. B) We put this one mollie in the other side of the divider where 6 babies were. Her diameter was probably more then an inch and she looked like she was ready to blow days ago. So we went to bed. Got up the next morning, I acted like some mornings and didn't pay a lick of attention to the babies till almost time to go to work. Too much crap to do. My wife hollers for me to come take a look. I get in there and have trouble seeing the wall on the otherside of the tank cuz there was so many babies. My wife counted them this morning and stopped counting at 50. So we got 50+ babies and nowhere to put them. Think the pet store will want 30? Anyone in the states want mollies?

Actually, they have more than 30. That's more along the lines of what smaller livebearers or younger ones get. Swords and mollies tend to have more around the 50-100 range, depending on size.

IMO that molly is very mature and probably quite old reching her time with you Generally mollies have alot of babies .... I saw one web site that said sailfins have like 20-80 mine had like 26 ..... There was a type I don't remember but it had 50-200 !! what type was she ???

50 Fry is not bad. Try 400 in 3 days. But anyway congrats on the fry and good luck.

think of it this way.... if you want to get rid of them, they lfs would probly give you 5 cents per fry. My LFS has molly fry for 25 cents and guppie fry are more for some reason or an othoter

I doubt your LFS will want them they normaly take them off your hands when they are fully grown.
I am having that problem now.
I have 30+ In my tank so we both need to find a way to get rid of them.
