it took 5 hours yesterday to clean my tanks and top up the sand i must be mad.i used to enjoy the cleaning part when i only had 1 tank now its too much like hard work

Once you get a system down it seems to go faster. Bare bottom tanks go so much quicker, I can do my 13 downstairs tanks in around 4 hours, the 1 tank upstairs with gravel took an hour just by itself the other night.

I use a Python... it takes less than an hour to clean my 8 tanks

Cleaning tanks IS hard work! Having a sand bottom helps some, and I find it helps to either do a little of the other routine cleaning and maintenance each water change, or alternate which tanks get the full treatment.
