I also got some plants do i bag them also in diff bags??

Now the tank it self im pretty sure i can leave the rocks and stuff in the tank wail im on the road?

and last one is should i save some of the water since its got the proper bacteria and the fishes have been living in there for about 7 months well with weekly 25% water change but do you guys think this will work like this??? sorry for the long mesg :good:

Hi Madjoker14,

I'd advise you to bag them. Put the glass fish in 1 bag, the mollies in another bag, and the peach faces in another. Don't feed the fish for at least 24hrs before you bag them. They will have enough oxygen if you bag them like the shops do (about 1/3 water and 2/3 air). The fish won't be affected too much by the bumps.

The plants shouldn't need bagged. They can be rapped in wet kitchen towel. Although the fish may appreciate some cover in the bags. Either way is fine.

I wouldn't leave rocks in the tank whilst you transport it. Take them out and put them in a box or something, otherwise you run the risk of cracking the tank.

You should save some water if possible but this is not the most important thing. The bacteria do not live in the water, they live in the filter on the filter media (sponge / ceramic rings, depending on what filter you have). You must make sure that this is kept wet or the bacteria will die. Probably the best thing to do is take some tank water into a box and put the filter media in it and transport it like that. It is very important for the health of your fish that these bacteria are kept alive.

Hope this helps you.

Cheers :good:

whoa u pretty much you answered everything i had in mind lol well there is 1 thing, i got 1 peach face that is pregnant like she's huge , this would really couse any issues right?

Shouldn't be a big issue. Just try to keep stress on the fish minimal, as always. :good:

Since you are going to be moving some of the water, I suggest that rather than bagging the fish, get some buckets with lids. Separate the fish as BTT mentioned but in buckets. You can poke a few holes in the tops of the buckets and the O2 won't be an issue (it woldn't be anyway) but more importantly the fish will have more room than in the bags. Also, use a 3rd bucket to float the filter media in so that it stays wet througout the trip.

As for the water, as BTT mentioned, the bacteria aren't in the water. I would however, try to take as much water as you can so that you're top off amount at the new location is held to a minimum just in case the pH, GH and KH of the new water are significantly different than what they are currently in.

wow u guys are great help, would know what to do without u guys thanks :good:

Will let you know how it went when i get to NYC, thanks again
