Hello. I have an empty 5 gallon tank that I want to put a fish in. What type(s) of fish can I house in a 5 gallon? I know I can have a betta, or maybe a few livebearers, but what else? I already have a guppy tank. I don't really want anymore livebearers.

6 or 8 microrasboras?

around 6.8 or so i never mess with it. I dont want to mess it up so i dont touch it. i figure most fish can handle .2 below 7

Agree -with 6.8 you can handle most fish. If it was 6.0 I was going to guide you toward tetras...

can i keep a mystery snail with a betta? what do i feed it?

you might want a couple of shrimp instead mystery snails are poo machines they poop on everything you are better of with some ghost shrimp instead

okay. so 1 male betta and 1 ghost shrimp? or more shrimp? what do i feed a ghost shrimp? im planning on putting swords in there too. with he eat them? or will the betta eat the shrimp?

yes, the plant. sounds good to me. i have head people say that they got 10 ghost shrimp for $5. my lfs sells them for 25 cents each

shrimp dont make much mess, so 1 betta or a few guppies or other smaller fish (main mess makers :D ) and 5ish shrimp would be good, anything else you'd be best upgrading your tank

Something about having other fish with Betta I want to say if you are going to have other fish with him make sure he is the absolute last fish to go into the tank because if you put him in first then add more fish he will think they are in his territory and kill them
