Here's the new tank. The plants have some recovering to do- I just got them tonight, and they still look dead. I need to buy a lot more of them before I get the puffers. Gotta fill in that open space at the front.

filtration:
- Penguin Mini (no bio-wheel)
heater:
- EboJager 50W
lighting:
- 20W fluorescent
plants:
- 2x amazon sword
- 2x java fern
- 2x water sprite
-inhabitants:
- snails

Edit: I also need to buy a background. :sly:

She already said...DPs....?

Anyhoo, good luck, although, I have to say, my GSPs nibble anything in the tank, and my plants are pockmarked...polkadot style...

Sorry.. I dont know a whole lot about fish like it seems everyone else does here. I have some but now I feel like an even bigger fish newbie after browsing around and posting here. :-( I dont know all the names and abbreviations.. didnt catch where she said what kind of fish. I was just curious to know what kinds of fish you would put in a 5.5 gallon tank since that's what I have. Cheers.

Well, sorry.

She's going to put in some dwarf puffers and thats it, although I think I heard somewhere that she might put some otos or cories in, but I can't remember...I think it will look great!

Hmm... I'll see if the DPs nibble at the plants. I can always switch to plastic or silk. :dunno:

I've decided against adding a pair of otos, since the tank is so small.

Sicy- you could keep a betta, dwarf puffers, otos or african dwarf frogs. Most of the other fish get too big for the tank or need more swimming room.

Hey CC that tank looks fantastic.

As to DP's neither of my DP's ever ate anything but bloodworms and snails the plants never got bitten once and there jaws are way to small to do damage. Goodluck to you.

and Sicy check out this link Acronyms

Thanks opcn and Arashi. :)

opcn- I'm hoping the DPs don't touch the plants- but if they do, not the end of the world. *shrug* Hopefully the snails (aka dinner ) will keep them occupied.

Do you guys think I should cover the filter intake tube with a sponge so that the snails don't work their way up into the filter? -_-

LMAO @ the Ebo!!! I mean, don't get me wrong, I use nothing but....but wowie, does it ever look like a MONSTER in that tank....I bet he feels reall good about himself now...being the smallest Ebo you can buy...and living SO LARGE!

*Ebo thinks to self....I feel so....so....so.....250!!!* :flex:

The tank looks really good too.

Sorry I lost it up there. :*)

 No worries- gave me a good laugh. :D

I was going to hide the Ebo behind some driftwood, but the pH of my water is already low, so I think having driftwoof in the tank would lower it too much for the DPs. I'll get some plants to cover it. ;)

Oh, and I think the Ebo preferred being in my 4g hex best. He pretty much took up an entire side of the tank.

Edited for spelling :X

At least you aren't shy about spending money. :p That is quite the investment for a 5.5 gallon tank. Especially the 4. :p $=quality though.

Nothing but the best for my fish. :D

:*) Well... actually, the 50W Ebos were only $5 more than the other 50W. The store didn't carry 25W heaters at the time. So, I bought an Ebo- and got addicted. ;)

Ebo addiction. :X That's a hard one to crack. I have 2 50W's for sale at the moment too, if anyone is interested.
