46 Gallon

i was told if the floor could hold 6 grown average men standing very close in the space and it can hold it, it should hold a 100 gallon :)

Ok, ill do the maths! Now, let me see...

46 UK Gallons? Right...

46 x 4.54609188 =209.120226 litres

1 litre of water = 1kg (thanks cornishgiant)
SO.....

209.120226 x .75 = 209.120226kgs

Well then, there we have it... If youre tank is filled with water alone it will weigh 209.120226kgs thats 32.93079853 stones.

Obviously it will weigh less or more due to different factors. i.e. tank might not all be filled with water, you might have some gravel etc etc.... Though i think this is a good estimate!

So if you had a fat friend you could ask them round to check out your floor

I think im right here, if im wrong, ive a funny feeling it wont be long before someone corrects me!

I'm yet to hear a story of a floor not holding a tank.

I have a 30 on a third floor, alongside a 15 and a 20, and have no problems.

Didnt your parents ever tell you theres always a first time for everything?
Onli jokin'! Seriously though - it SHOULD hold...

I have a 44g and a 15g in my bedroom. No trouble at all. I have little doubt the 100g could easily be situated there....except the idea of moving it up there is very very offputting!

P.

1 litre of water = .75kg

Eh?? 1 litre of water =1Kg!
Ah! told you so! :p Well cornishgiant after some consultation it appears you are correct! Now, i would almost bet my life on it, that i read in a Juwel booklet that 1 litre of water weighed .75kg... Seems to be a load of twaddle! I WILL find where i read this, although i now believe it to be wrong! Cheers Mr Giant!

In my room (second floor) I have my long 20g and 10g next to each other and my 55g is also in my room on opposite side next to a heavy desk and a heavy bed in between both the 20g,10g and the 55g. Also this place is 45+ years old so I'd say it will hold.

iv heard u can hav up to 125 gallon tank on a floor thats not direcly on the ground before u need to reinforce in with steel bars or something
