40 Gallon Breeder Stocking

Hello, i have a 40 gallon breeder, and i think it is fully cycled * i ramp it up to 4ppm or so and the next day the ammonia is completely gone )
now, i want to get a single fish for it, i don't like the look of having a bunch of little fish swimming around but having a single monster would be awesome =D

can anyone give me some options? please note that i probably wont be able to upgrade in tank size for another 2-3 years or so, so nothing that can outgrow the tank within 2-3 years

maybe a weird fish or something?

Have you tested the water for Nirite and Nitrate as well as ammonnia?

just tested it, and nitrite is at 0 but nitrate was at between 80-160ppm should i change the water?

Yes, water change would do you well with nitrates that high.
