Hi Guys,
This is my first post, but its not the way I wanted to get onto the board. I brought a tank from my LFS recently, and as seems to be the case too often they didn't give me great recommendations on stocking, and I didn't look into it nearly enough before putting too many fish in there! Luckily I have good water parameters, and enough time to do regular water changes.
As a result of overstocking, I have a very angry Betta, whose tank mates aren't helping his mood...Firstly the four Cardinal Tetra he lives with don't get on with him, and tend to nip at his fins as he glides past. It doesn't go down well. They are all have very vibrant colouring, eat well, and are active. I do think that four isn't enough (the LFS told me 3 = a school) as before I added more ornaments to the tank they did get a bit territorial. One of them has lost an eye for his troubles, but still has an appetite, and moves with the rest of the group.
My Betta also has issues with the Albino Corys in the tank. They have a bit too much energy for him and I want to re-home them before he does anything damaging to them. They are really energetic, eat well, and are more than happy to spend 24 hours a day hoovering the tank. Again though, I think more would be advantageous, but I don't want to overload the tank.
Like the title says, they are free to whoever can pick them up from Shrewsbury in Shropshire (I don't mind driving a bit to meet someone half way). I just want them to go to a decent home, rather than to sit with the rest of the stock at one of the nearby garden centres.
Let me know if you can offer them a home, or know of a decent LFS in the area which would take them off my hands...
