Hi all,

I was browsing the net and looking up local sell/wanted section and came across something. The ad was for donated large fish for a disabled childrens home. The ad read something like this: "Wanted, Large tropical fish which would go with 4 oscars" The tank is 5ft by 2.5ft by 2.5ft so im guessing about a 885L/200G tank. Would that be enough room for 4 oscars? if so what other fish could go with them in a tank that large?

Kev

I wouldn't do two pairs of Oscars in anything less then a six foot tank. I'd sooner go with a 150 gallon 6 footer then a 200 gallon 5 footer. Except for perhaps a pleco the two pairs would fill the tank up.

Im not sure if its 2 pair, 4 males, 4 females, 3 n 1... just said they had 4 oscars and were looking for donations of bigger fish that could be kept with them... was hoping they wernt setting them self up for a disaster :(

IMO, 4 oscars is 2 oscars too many (at least) in a tank that size. They may be small now...
I think the advice would be to not add ANY fish......

(not an oscar expert but i've seen them full grown and they're huge!)

Just wanna point out i dont know these people but i know where the place is... I know a guy who has a very large common plec and he would rather it be in a 200G than his 75.. and would be nice for the kids there to have a diffrent fish, not every day you see an 14" plec... unless you have a 14" plec cos then you would see one every day :p

Edit: Tank dimentions are - 5ft by 2.6ft by 2.6ft i worked it to be about 200 give or take 15G
