4 Deaths In 5 Days! Help

if you say there is nothing showing on the fish then you must have water quality issues ie a toxin in your water that unless you send a sample of water to a lab you wont know if i was you i would do a water change and use a gravel vac if you have one if not it might be a good idea to get one as gravel can contain some nasties & keep an eye on your fish

hmmm....well you must have some sort of infection or disease in your tank, get some medicine, QUICK! i had a betta for months, one day it just died! day after that a fish kept copping it
its not good practice to add any medications on the hope it might help as you should only add a medication when needed & then only to treat a specific disease

yeah i use a gravel vac all time, i cleaned fish 1 day ago u think should do it again tommoro? bout 30%? what do you reckon about putting in a general medicine?
i'm not too keen cos if i put a general in then i find a definate sign then i might not be able to treat properly? do you agree or am i wrong?

hi thanks for the advice i must get to bed now, but i will be checking in the morning to see if there is anyone who has had this happen or that has any advice
thanks
rachel

no more deaths so far
but somehow my temp had risen. maybe that was the reason.
i have gotten it back down now but the temp was ok when i cleaned it out
maybe i knoked the heater putting the top back on - but had 2 deaths before this anyway

another death this fish though had developed a white dusty looking covering on its back and so i put treatment in but it died last night  now one of the other fish is flicking of the plants, is this why the others died? because there were no visable signs before

if it is spot like then it sounds like you have whit spot & then in that case you need to treat for whitespot but if it is a yellow gray coating then it will be velvet which can be mistaken for whitespot you should treat with a propriety brand of velvet medication, whitespot medication or even a broad spectrum antiparasite treatment you can also raise the temp to about 32 degs if your fish will tolerate a few hours every 3 to 5 days

wasnt white spot looked like velvet, just looked in tank to find one of my mollies looks like one of her scales is just hanging on, looks kinda odd other than that she seems fine i have put the treatment in for the velvet and done the repeat of the treatment i'm supposed to put my carbon filter back in in 5 days, can i put in another repeat of the treatment or would this be too much? (obviously after a water change)??
and why is her scale hanging off?
