I am soon going to have an empty 38 gallon bowfront tank, which is currently being used as a growout tank for CA/SA cichlids. I am a big CA/SA fan, and will admit i know little about africans.. Are there any type i can put in a 38 gallon bowfront comfortably, besides kribs?

I tried to search the forums.. but after about 10 minutes got so frustrated i just decided to start a topic lol.

Thanks!

Don't know if it would be big enough for Malwis as most of them get pretty big and you need to stock heavily to avoid aggressin, have you looked at any of the Tanganyika species? :good:

What family are yellow labs from? Are there other similar species i could add with them? Would rather not have a single type of fish.

I'll look into the Tanganyika, know absolutely nothing about them as of now.

Here you go:

Labidochromis caeruleus (Yellow Lab)

-FHM

I tried Yellow Labs in a 30" wide cube shaped 56 gallon with no success. Could just be my luck.I switched to a Lake Tanganyika set up and am very pleased.

If you like the SA's then you would like the Frontosa. These fish get big, but grow slowly (about 1" per year if my research was correct). I also have Brichardi, Black Calvus, and Regani's. All very cool fish.

Depending on where you live.....some may be a bit hard to find.
