Hello

35L Arc Tank with two 11W arc pods - 22W in total. Is there much that wont grow with these light conditions? I have CO2 and ferts. I want to put some HC cuba in there, maybe a bit of Elatine Triandra some lovely taurogyne sp. and a few taller plants and some moss on me wood ;-)

Shouldn’t be a problem should it?

Thanks

Ed

I am down to 22 watts now on my 35litre as the light i bought off ebay lasted a whopping 3 months before breaking  Anyhoo, before i start a rant, i am growing HC cuba and DHG in the tank and they both seem to be doing ok in the new lighting conditions. :)

i would start off lower light, just running the one arc pod for 7-8hours and the other for a 1 hour mid-day burst. this will enable you to avoid algae outbreaks. If it was me i wouldnt even run the 2nd light until i have had some good growth from my plants and can be sure that they are using up all the 'nasties' in the water. OR, you could shove a load of oxygenators in initially like elodea to help use up the nasties. When i set up my 240L, The elodea was growing an inch every 2 days.

I forgot to say as well, the biggest problem i had with my 35 litre arc tank was the lack of light reaching the substrate. I had to lower the water level a couple of inches in order for the light to penetrate deep enough to allow the foreground plants to grow well.

Hmm really? is that because the tank is deeper than it is wide?i will keep that in mind - thanks :)
