35L Stocking Ideas?

I've just bought and set up a 40L tank, but I'm calling it 35L after accounting for gravel and decorations,
What would you put in a 35L tank?
Open to all ideas as it's empty and no plans on a certain fish!

My water is quiet hard, I also have a 450L African cichlid tank that my water is perfect for, I just want a little side project
