I have a 35g tank with 4 guppies, 3 platies, and one pineapple swordtail. not to mention the fry net in the corner with about 16 platie fry  . Anyhow, I dont know if this is moraly wrong or not, but i need a fish to kinda do population control with out nipping at my guppies. Iv been thinking that a pictus cat might be good because from what i here they only eat baby fry. Now that im back at work i have to travel alot and i dont want my live bearer tank to get to out of control. Does anybody have any suggestions on a good fish to have that would only eat fry?

No fish will eat only fry. The adults should eat a good number of their own fry. They will eat fry and other things. Dwarf Gouramis are a good sized fish that will eat fry that won't get exceptionally large. The Swordtail and Platies should do a decent job eating the fry though.

They dont seem to mess with the fry at all. I hear some poeple say that but mi have never seen any of mine eat any at all that i know of. And im pretty good about knowing my fry cycles and when mom is going to drop.

Some fry will never be eaten. I don't know if there is something about them genetically that tells other fish to stay away, but I've seen fry that are definitely bite sized and they are untouched. Multiple types of fish that eat fry is what I would try in order to ensure your best chances of a good fry cleanup crew.
