ok i don't wanna do a planted anymore and im thinking about some cichlids. I need some advice though like how many i could keep and what the water perimeters should be at. This would be my first cichlid tank if i decided to go with it. Any help would be appreciated.

35 gallon tank? hmm... Well, the water perameters as with all tanks should be 0 nitrie, 0 nitrates, 0 ammonia. Cichlids like a high PH level, my set-up's PH is at 7.6. Now, as to how many you could keep, well most African cichlids grow to around 4.5", you could try a set-up with souly Kribensens and Rams, or you could try a set-up with things like Jewel Cichlids and Kenis. Either way though your stocking will be limited.

You could do a pretty cool shelldweller tank, and I think you could have some upper level fish as well.
