Hi all,

I saw a 33G tank in the classifieds for $30 today. It is a good deal, comes with the hood and accessories, etc... What I am wondering is what are the approx. dimensions? My guess is it is about 36" long. I am pretty sure it doesn't come with a stand. Of course I phoned and no one is home. I think I want to get it cause the price is right.

What do you guys think?

That is telling me the tank is 4 feet long. Wow. I didn't know a 33 could be that big. I am kinda hoping it is taller and shorter. I will ask when the person is home. I hope it isn't gone, I am pretty sure if I offer her $20 she will take it.

well on the site it is listed as a 33 long....a normal 33 probably isn't that common if it is not listed there? but is def. possible...

My biggest concern is the tank doesn't come with a stand. I don't know where I would put it, even if it is three feet long. we are running out of room for tanks. I was going to sell/give away the 10g that hubby has his fish in right now and upgrade those to the 33. I don't know that I have a place for it. Unless of course I got a stand. Or made one.

I just happen to have both of those hanging around the house. and extra plywood too. I want this tank, mainly cause it is so cheap. I will probably get it and put it away if I can't find a spot for it. I am bad that way. Once I get an idea in my head it won't go away until I do something about it.

i would take it even if you dont have a spot...we all know how quickly spots appear for our fishy friends ;)

I am thinking the same thing. We want to move in the next little while, so there is always a possibility of finding room at the new house.

I don't know if I can get cinderblocks, but i can get a ton of brick. I suppose it is the same thing. I have a shelf that is 35". Grrr. I could still get some cinderblock for really cheap at home depot or something.

Ok, I have a shelf that is 35"X12". Could I safely put the tank on that? It would leave about 1/2" on either side hanging off. I am grasping at straws here. I still don't even know if the tank is still for sale. I think I will call now and see. GRRRRRRRRRR it is gone. Oh well, I probably shouldn't be spending money on a new/used tank anyway.
