Looking at setting up an African tank.. and really have no idea where to start :)

I was considering the Lake Kyoga/Nawampasa Haplochromis latifasciatus as they're fairly small and a very attractive fish.

If I went down that route, what tank mates could I look at? Would prefer to keep it as a regional biotope but I can't see any other species from Lake Kyoga or Lake Nawampasa, so am flexible.

Another alternative may be Lake Victoria cichlids - any suggestions gents?

Cheers! :)

40" length, 15" height, 12" width. I think I'd be alright with a small group of H. latifasciatus :)
