1) i have vals and they have put out loads of runners and now the plantlets are growing i will need to find room for them. how do i unattach them from the runner cmming from the main tank.

2) i have a really bad biofilm on the inside of my fry tank, i have amanos and cherries in there (my CUC!) but how do i get rid of the bio film. i have tried, cleaning the tank out and then re doing it again!

3) on the end of my java fern leaves there are roots showing, what do i do with these? can i sanp the whole leaf off and somehow plant it or how would i go about this. on one leaf the roots are nearly 1 inch long and there is a small leaf developing!

thanks all.

1) just cut/ pull them off. eventually they will detach anyway.

2) not sure about that, if it is like surface scum, then up your CO2 & nutrients.

3) you can wait until they fall off on their own, this takes a long time. Or you can pull the rhizome off once it has developed. Usually the mother leaf always dies after this though.

vallis produce runners by a stem under the gravel, so you just need to cut this stem as it doesnt matter because the mother plant & plantlet should have their own roots to get nutrients from.

yeah, thats correct, cheers aaron. i might just snap the leaf off with the roots on (java fern) becuase i dont need new plantlets and it will only take nutrients from the mother plant.
