ive 15 small fish in is this at moment mollys guppies i was wanting to add one decent size fish to add to these can you recomend one that will not upset others oh i have a black pleco as well,i dont want to over crowd tank thanks

Hi, it depends on your water? I'm assuming as you've already got mollys that your water is hard? If that's the case, swordtails get quite big...

Mollies are not small fish, they will grow if they are healthy and well provided for. Males can attain 3 inches/7 cm and females 5 and even 6 inches/12-15 cm. I don't know how many you have, but keep this in mid if additional fish are being considered; the tank space will seem smaller when the fish are mature.

ive soft water but add a bit epsom salt and plenty of moving water ive never had a issue with keeping them in the past

The hardness of water expressed as GH (general or total hardness) involves the amount of dissolved calcium and magnesium in the water. Calcium primarily is the crucial mineral here. Fish that have evolved to function in hard water absolutely must have such water. The physiology of the fish needs this to function properly. Mollies are especially sensitive over time.

Moving water is nothing to do with GH. And Epsom salts do add magnesium, but not the critical calcium.

What is the actual GH of your water? Until you/we know this, we are just guessing.

@j j m Enter your address here then scroll down to the bottom of the page. You need the numbers for hardness as calcium carbonate (which is the same as ppm) and German degrees (the same as dH)
